Jumping technique and when to sheet the bar in…

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

There is a good post on the kiteboarder.co.uk technique forum where someone asked about when you should sheet the bar in when loading up for a jump. I thought this was a good and interesting question as you see so many people out kiting who have terrible jumping technique – they might get out of the water but they are not getting anywhere near as much height as they could if they just adapted their technique a little.

Anyway, I created this short video, just a couple of clips, where Karine shows perfectly how the bar should be sheeting in during a jump:

These clips come from the Intermediate Volume 1 DVD that we are currently editing, where all aspects of jumping will be covered in detail.

Tricks Definitions : Shiftys, Grabs & One Footers!

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Its been a while since we released some trick definition videos, but the boys got some great footage on the latest trip to Egypt so here are the first 5 but we have plenty more to come over the next few weeks. Remember they are only 30-40 seconds long and aren’t trying to teach you how to do the trick but hopefully you may see something here, or amongst our other trick & technique definition videos, which will motivate you to go out and try something new or revisit a trick you haven’t tried for a while:

All these videos feature Fat Sand’s newest recruit James Boulding with Will Milne doing his thing behind the camera.
